Old Edwardians

16th May 2016 - London Dinner 2016

20 Old Edwardians joined us for this year's annual London Dinner. After a lovely meal at the Civil Service Club, just a two minute walk from Trafalgar Square, we marked the 400th years since Shakespeare's death with a special talk by Jill Line (Class of 1951), an Independent Lecturer in Shakespeare.

Jill Line has an MA from the Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham and taught in the Drama Department of the University of Roehampton.  She continues to lecture widely on Shakespeare and has twice been invited by HRH The Prince of Wales to lecture at his Shakespeare Summer School for Teachers with the RSC.
She is the author of Shakespeare and the Fire of Love, Shepheard-Walwyn, 2004, re-published in USA as Shakespeare and the Ideal of Love, Inner Traditions, 2006.  She is a Fellow of the Temenos Academy.

Special thanks go to Branch Head Angela Clayton-Turner, Liaison Lois Freedman, Sponsor Kathryn Blunt and, of course, to Jill for her wonderful speech.
